Forex Market Hours by City

Winter local clocks for cities that do not yet have a country page: Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Paris, São Paulo, Mexico City, Auckland and Doha. London is 08:00–17:00 UTC and New York is 13:00–22:00 UTC in this table. Summer moves those UTC blocks earlier.

How to read this

One winter table, then the summer slide

Every row uses the northern-winter UTC sessions. If a city itself never changes clocks, London and New York still jump an hour on the local watch when they enter daylight time. The live converter on the homepage applies that automatically. Dedicated pages already exist for the listed countries.

Winter session times

Sunday open is 22:00 UTC. Overlap is the shared 13:00–17:00 UTC block. Times that pass midnight are the same trading day continuing into the next calendar morning.

Tokyo and Seoul

Japan and South Korea share UTC+9 and do not observe daylight saving. The overlap is a late-evening shift: 22:00–02:00 local in winter. When London and New York are both on daylight time, subtract one hour (21:00–01:00). USD/JPY is the pair that actually has Tokyo liquidity in the morning; EUR/USD usually waits for 17:00 JST, which is the London open. See Tokyo session hours for the Asian side of that day.

Hong Kong, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City

Hong Kong and Taipei are eight hours ahead of UTC. Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City are seven. None of these cities change clocks. A trader who wants the London cash open is looking at mid-afternoon locally; the New York data print at 08:30 ET lands in the evening. Summer (both Western centers on daylight time) pulls each of those local times one hour earlier.

Paris, Madrid, Rome, Amsterdam, Warsaw

These cities share Central European Time in winter (UTC+1) and move to CEST (UTC+2) with the EU on the last Sunday of March. The winter overlap, 14:00–18:00 local, stays in the local afternoon after the EU clock change because London moves the same day. The awkward weeks are when only the US has changed: 8–28 March 2026 and 25–31 October 2026. Those dates are listed in the daylight-saving guide. Germany already has a full CET page; the hours match.

São Paulo and Mexico City

Brazil dropped daylight saving time. Brasília time stays UTC−3, so the winter overlap is a late morning, 10:00–14:00. In northern summer it becomes 09:00–13:00. Mexico abolished seasonal clock changes for most of the country in 2022; Mexico City stays UTC−6, and the winter overlap is 07:00–11:00. Border cities that follow US clocks are the exception, not the capital.

Auckland

New Zealand Standard Time is UTC+12. Daylight time (UTC+13) runs from the last Sunday in September to the first Sunday in April — in 2026, from 27 September until 5 April. During NZST the overlap is 01:00–05:00. During NZDT, and while London and New York are still on standard time, add one hour on the New Zealand clock. The result is an after-midnight session, which is why many Auckland traders treat the London open (20:00 NZST) as the start of their evening rather than the overlap.

Doha

Qatar is UTC+3 all year, the same winter offset as Istanbul. Sunday’s forex open is 01:00 Monday, and the winter overlap is 16:00–20:00. When London and New York are both on daylight time, that overlap is 15:00–19:00. Turkey’s page uses the same arithmetic: forex hours in Turkey.
